If you live in the USA you know where I’m going with this post… Seriously, has everyone become so lazy that simple courtesy is out of fashion.
Frankly, fashion doesn’t matter. What DOES Matter is that the current generation of young adults, teenagers and the likes have absolutely No Moral Values or Ethics.
Respect and Lying… None
Adultery and Stealing… None
Love one another… Nope
and On and On and On
Why is this? I believe it is because of the deterioration of old fashion/traditional ways of rearing our children, like discipline, teaching and instruction, guidance, protection and the necessary preparation of our youth to carry on good Christian values. The Ten Commandments make it very clear. I wish more people new about the importance of keeping the Ten Commandments in Fashion.
In fact the US Supreme Court ruled (June 28, 2005) on public displays of the Ten Commandments across America that may be the summation of what we are currently dealing with.
The Ten Commandments are the most important and maybe misunderstood Laws of God, but they are the road map to living life in a moral, ethical and scrupulous way. They are in the open for all to see and obey. Your choice!
Here are three versions of Gods Ten Laws from three different bibles, side-by-side.
Bottom line, if the younger generations payed more attention to life’s moral structure we would be able to have the Body of Christ in whole now, and happiness would abound worldwide. What a shame that all the morals have gone!
Unfortunately, it is these very same youths parents that are to blame. They have become lax, lazy and simply engrossed in the pursuit of what the world is offering them from the dark side like greed, materialism, pride and living life without knowing what their purpose is here on Earth.
I am (and we should be) appalled at their conduct and that they are becoming a society of misguided heathens. I try (we need) to take every opportunity that presents itself and correct the situation on the spot… (at least point it out to these folks)!

I think a lot of people are wondering how we got where we are now regarding ethics and morals. The thing is it didn’t happen overnight. Since the 1960’s morals have been deteriorating, mainly when an entire generation chose to turn away from God and turn to themselves (which is nothing new-many peoples have done this through history. God didn’t go anywhere, He’s still right where He always is-waiting for us to ‘repent’ which really means to stop doing what we’re doing and turn back to Him. A lot of people think that the 10 commandments are old-fashioned rules that smack of oppression. They think that God just doesn’t want us to have ‘fun’. God does want us to have fun and live joyful lives. The 10 commandments are there to help us stay ‘in bounds’ so that we don’t get ‘penalized’ and then have to live with the results of broken lives. The ‘10′ are guidelines to live a fuller life not a lesser one.
Children now have few mentors to teach them, and sadly many of the older generation also don’t know how to live truly ‘free’. Jesus set the captives free, one of the many things He came to do. We need a groundswell of heartfelt repentance, turning back to God and into relationship with Him. It is His Spirit that will lead us back into right living. Once we turn back and reach out to Him and we see and feel how good He is we won’t want to turn away from Him again…we’ll want to follow Him and His ways out of joy and love for Him…not out of obligation or guilt. I believe we are nearing a time when God will pour out His Spirit upon our generation and it will be so awesome, that it will rock all of us..in a good way so that we will want to seek after Him and live in truth and light.

@Anna: Welcome! How right you are beloved. I believe that God is calling everyone, at all levels, from non-believers to devout Christians to come together NOW! Unfortunately here in the USA, the Anti-Christian groups are pushing our government to the limit on what can and can’t be said or done to overcome their wants… How sad that this is happening.
